Wow, Walter. Just wow. There she is, the very first Mitchell camera model to ever be advertised. You have completely blown my socks off. Thank you for this!

I recently discovered your GREAT site on Mitchell cameras, and spent some time reading the articles, forums and looking at pictures. Thank you for providing all this information on the history of Hollywood's great camera, and camera systems!

As for printed material, the only source of information I have on Mitchells is my collection of American Cinematographer (A.C.) magazines. My collection goes back to the mid 1956 thru 2004. I have 2 issues from 1940s and 1 from 1951. As the A.C. magazine was the magazine for the working Hollywood D.P.s, there is a lot of Mitchell info in them. And that's what brings me to this post.

Excellent, thank you. Here's another one but this time it's the side viewfinder from an ad in the early 30's.

I thought you would like this ad because it shows the BNC and the Director, Actor and D.o.P. from "Gunsmoke". It's an ad for DuPont film, but it's a great shot of the BNC.

Another DuPont Film ad from 1/1960. A nice shot of the BNC, but it goes on to say that the BNC in the picture is BNC serial # 2 that was then 25 years old.

Thank you for the two outstanding Dupont ads Charlie!

The one of Southcott checking the film path inside the BNC is my all time favorite far. But then the Dupont ad with BNC #2 is rare and amazing as well.

I guess I just can't decide but either way - you rock Charlie.

Keep up the great work,
Walter

Thanks Charlie. I have to agree that the Dupont ad showing BNC number 2 is mind boggling! You should win an award for that submission.
