Sam Dodge and his BNCR #157 Video Tour

Post by mitchellbnc » Thu Jun 02, 2016 12:39 pm

Hello members! Sam has been at it again and this time he is featuring a BNCR and another fantastic video tour. He is getting better and better at these videos to showcase his for sale 35mm cameras. This one is very polished and like his others, they feature a good deal of interesting information.

As Sam writes on his web site, the provenance of this camera is what makes it extremely rare. "Allied Artists Pictures Corporation bought this camera to shoot their biggest hit, “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”. They purchased this camera in anticipation of shooting their largest budget picture to date. It was to cost them over $300,000 but grossed over three million. “Invasion” became one of the most beloved SiFi hits of the 1950’s. It’s listed on many top ten SiFi lists. In 1994 Invasion of the Body Snatchers."

Sam was nice enough to send me two B&W photos taken on the Invasion of the Body Snatchers set which shows this camera in action (posted below the video). Thank you Sam and please stop by and make a post or two!

How was Sam able to find out that it works on Inavasion? I'm always interested to hear how people find out...it's often like detective work!

Easy answer. Sam has both mystic vision and friends in many places as well as multiple universes. ED.

Yep, Sam's videos are excellent. Might ask him if he knows if my Standard no. 146 has as 'history'? What collecting is all about.
