Re: Mitchell Cameras; ownership history
Thanks for all the nice comments. This photo is an example of what I look for. It is a behind the scenes photo from G. I. Blues. Look at the area under the man bending over. You can see the end a Mitchell camera lens box which holds 6 lenses, a typical set of prime lenses. It appears Elvis Presley i...

Re: Mitchell Cameras; ownership history
Here is a photo that I found on eBay that identifies the specific camera. In this case it is a Mitchell NC serial no. 92 working on a Paramount Production. Funny thing is I have found very few NC's on the collector market. Someone told me that many of them were modified or cannibalized.

Mitchell Cameras; ownership history
Hello all, I have had a collection of movie cameras for years, starting out with 8mm & Super 8 and even picked up a few 16mm. If anyone knows collectors, it's easy to expand ones collection, and I did. I bought a 35mm Mitchell GC off eBay. I later found out it was originally purchased by the US Gove...

Re: Was the Disney Multiplane camera a Mitchell?
Hello Mr. Pebbles, If I may throw in my two cents...I have picked up a few facts; First, of note, the film magazine in your picture is a Bell & Howell, used for 2709s and Eyemo cameras. Secondly I know for certain that Disney did use Mitchell cameras for some of his multi-plane work. In the last of ...

Re: The Great DP Hal Mohr and help identify mystery Mitchell
Hello again, yes, this could not be an NC. As the other poster said they were not made until 1932, 1931 at the earliest. The peanut motor position is attached to the upper left corner, as with a Standard. I have seen Peanut Motors attached to the center in some production photos, which I can not exp...

Re: Mitchell BNC Camera Construction -Personal Observations
Hello Bruce and thanks for the great info on Mitchell BNCs. I am not in the industry but have interest and am a collector. I own a BNC which was owned by Paramount and converted to reflex by way of Pelical (for those that don't know what it is: a mirror reflex system that passes some of the light to...

Re: Gifts for a Mitchell enthsiast
Just a note here, the magazine converted to a clock shown in the picture is actually not for a Mitchell but for a Bell & Howell 2709.

Mitchell Cameras Sold at Hollywood Auction!
Did everyone see the auction results at the recent memorabilia auction held by Profiles in History? It was the last group of stuff from Debbie Reynolds' collection. Sold were a Mitchell Standard made in 1929 and used by Universal, as well as a Mitchell BNC, 65mm and a VistaVision. They even sold jus...
