Re: BNCR Serial Number on movement and blimp?
Hello Greg, Good question. I have seen numbers on the blimp that appear to have been cast in. The moderators Camera, you should be able to find photos somewhere on the site, should show this. His is an older camera. I believe it was in the back of the camera along the bottom? I just checked my camer...

Re: Mitchell goes to war
I would agree with Ed as it being a "Standard", although I rarely disagree with him! I could add that the US Military was the largest single purchaser of Mitchell cameras. They used the cameras for many different purposes, from filming tests (like the Atomic Bomb testing) to making training films. M...

Re: Help- No 112?
Hello,
A question here, does the piece have springs and can part of it push down? It sort of looks like a matte cutter but I'm not certain from the pictures.

Re: Mitchell bottom
Great looking camera! Thanks for sharing the photo. A lot of the cameras were converted. In the case of BNCs, a lot of the main part of the camera, the main housing of the movement, went overseas, I think mostly Japan, for animation. Also the Cinema Products company used a lot of the same part of th...

Re: Mitchell bottom
Ooooh, too bad. Do you know who owned this camera? I could look up who the first buyer was if you don't already know. Does it have the special effects options, matte wheel, floating iris, etc.? Care to share any other Photos?

Re: Mitchell Side Viewfinder
viewfinder is for a 16mm Mitchell camera. I believe the optics may be a bit different since it is a different format film. These still have value so you should consider selling this one and picking up a correct Mitchell finder for 35mm format.

Re: Mitchell Cameras; ownership history
So is Ed "Mediaed" still on the board? I just PM him about his BNCR104. My question is, is he certain this is a Mitchell Conversion, rather than one of the cameras they made as a BNCR? I know they made just over 130 cameras as reflexed and that they converted some of their BNCs to reflex. I'm not ce...

Re: Stiff Movement on Mitchell Standard (advice)
Nice! I must apologize but it looks like I never provided info on your camera. What I know is that it was first sold from Mitchell November 10, 1928. The records I have indicate that it was a High Speed version, which would have meant it had ball bearings. It was sold to....; R.C.A. Photophone. Your...
