To be honest, have not seen one this bad in a long time. Slim.hopes for a restore without the need for major parts. May be a part out item.
Just my opinion. Best. ED.

Re: 16mm CM72A
This looks to be an Auricon conversion camera. The original CM models were for 100' loads circa 1957. In the mid 60's, some were modified to take a 400' load with the addition of the very common Mitchell mags. (Why reinvent something so readily available?) These were mostly for TV news and documenta...

Re: Mitchell 205 R
Hi, Lizokon and welcome. Your mag is for 16mm film. Mitchell made thousands of these and they were used for a number of cameras other than mitchells through the years - Auricon conversions and cinema products CP 16's as well as Frezolies, Wilcam16's spring immediately to mind. The Mitchell models wo...

Re: Mitchell Cameras; ownership history
Mark is on the money but I can add some more information. This is a 400' sound blimp for a Mitchell 16Pro camera. The cameras were introduced in 1947. Probably the blimp would have been very shortly thereafter if not part of the initial packages. These cameras were phased out by the early 70's in fa...

Re: BNCR Serial Number on movement and blimp?
Greg, Would suggest it is a real hassle to dismantle a BNCR to find the possible factory stamp on the inside. Probably unnecessary. On the BNC, the camera was designed to slide sideways on the internal gibs in order to rack over the focus and could be slid out of the blimp easily. Much like the stan...

Re: Mitchell goes to war
Flashlarue, Looks to be a Mitchell Standard. It has both the adjustable 4 way matte and iris controls on the front. Looks like a high speed motor from the tach. The tripod and head are also Mitchell. Parker could have become a director after the war based on his experience. Lots of people in the fil...

Re: BNC #17 looking for any info
Did you look at the top left serial numbers tab to find the year for the camera first? I take it there is no camera or motor so our registry is not viable. My records show #17 to be one of a number of lend-lease cameras sent to the USSR and made in 1939. That doesn't seem a likely thing to be back h...

Re: History of BNC mount
Dom, Embarrassed to say that I have not delved into lenses as much as I should. Know the BNC mount came about because of the desire to have different lenses available and a quick way of changing them. B&L supposedly had some input in the design. Could you post a few pictures here to show us what is ...
